Raised in Northern California, Matt Grimes has been a technology enthusiast since childhood. While pursuing a degree in Creative Writing he founded a Mobile startup that proved to be incredibly successful. It was then that Grimes decided to make writing a hobby and focus on a career in technology.

Privacy and Security have always been at the forefront of Grimes’ endeavors. He has been a Product leader at many well-respected companies in this space such as Mozilla and DuckDuckGo. He is currently leading the Password Manager business line at 1Password.

Grimes is also a passionate evangelist of Open Source software. He has contributed to multiple Open Source projects over the years and continues to do so today. Outside of work, Matt Grimes is an accomplished chef, mixed martial artist, archer, musician, photographer, and outdoorsman. He lives on a working ranch at an undisclosed location in the Pacific Northwest.
